Simple Crochet Pattern: Granny Square
Granny squares are a classic and versatile crochet pattern. Here’s a simple starting point:
- Chain 4 and join to form a ring.
- Round 1: Chain 3 (counts as first DC), work 2 DC into the ring, chain 2. Repeat (3 DC, chain 2) three more times. Slip stitch to the top of the first chain 3 to join.
- Round 2: Slip stitch into the first chain-2 space, chain 3, work 2 DC, chain 2, and 3 DC into the same space. Repeat (3 DC, chain 2, 3 DC) into each remaining chain-2 space. Slip stitch to join.
- Repeat Round 2 until your granny square is the desired size.
Use these squares to create blankets, scarves, or anything you can dream up!
